Portrait of Marilyn Manson on scratchboard

Here's a link to the reference photo: [link] (First image) I wish I had found this before I did the scratch board. This picture is so much better quality, nose hair and all (haha), than the one I worked with. This site has a lot of really high quality detailed Manson images, so more Manson drawings/scratchboards/paintings are likely for the future.

It's a piece of paper covered in a thin layer of dried clay with india ink on top. Then you use a knife-like tool to carve a design into it. It's like the reserve of drawing because instead of adding the darkness you are taking away to make the lights.

Yeah, that's definitely the most nerve wracking thing about it, so I felt lucky that it came out pretty well.
